PRODUCTION CHEMICALS

PRODUCTION CHEMICALS

Blend of chemical intermediates and solvents which are introduced to flowlines, wellbore, topside equipment’s or other well infrastructure of an oil or gas well, in order to facilitate production or flow of hydrocarbons, protect well’s infrastructure and equipment’s, remove unwanted or hazardous substances from hydrocarbons or produced water.

Chemicals that slows or interferes with a chemical reaction in order to suppress and reduce the activity of another substance.

Types of Inhibitors:

a) Corrosion Inhibitors

b) Scale Inhibitors

c) Wax/Paraffin Inhibitors

Corrosion Inhibitors: are a class of chemical compounds, added in specified concentrations to a fluid in order to prevent corrosion and damage to the pipelines or surfaces and equipment’s caused by varying properties of production conditions and fluid concentrations.

Scale Inhibitors: are a class of speciality chemicals, added in specified concentrations to fluid flow systems in order to prevent precipitation and aggregation of insoluble compound formation on the walls of the pipelines and systems.

Wax/Paraffin Inhibitors: are chemicals that are introduced to waxy oils in flowlines in order to control and inhibit the growth of wax crystals.

Class of Chemicals that are added to flowlines and systems in order to remove unwanted gases from the process flowline, in turn preventing damage and loss to the production systems.

Types of Scavengers:

1) H2S Scavenger

2) Oxygen Scavenger

H2S Scavengers: A specialized chemical used in hydrocarbon and chemical processing facilities, which reacts selectively with and removes h2s to help meet process and product specifications.

Oxygen Scavengers: Class of chemicals added to flow systems to react and remove oxygen from the fluid, which in turn protects against oxygen induced corrosion.

Also known as emulsion breakers, are added to flow and production lines in order to separate the water phase and oil phase, enabling the water content in the crude to meet required specifications.

Are polymers which allow hydrocarbons to flow at very low temperatures, especially in winters without heavy wax formation in the lower temperatures and enable the oil to remain pumpable.

Are used in the oil and gas industry to maximize production by the protection of the flowlines and other production equipment’s through the inhibition of microbial induced biofilm and corrosion.

Are a class of speciality chemicals that triggers and facilitates the dissolution and removal of unwanted scale formations from flow and production lines, especially in Water Treatment flowlines and Oil & Gas industry.
